Literacy Coach Vanessa Carter’s persistence paid off. She has been diligently applying for various grants offered through the MEEMIC Foundation since February of 2017 and she finally earned one!
It was a day of celebration when she learned that she would be receiving office supplies for Macomb Montessori Academy. A classroom set of crayons, dry erase markers, pencils, paper clips, markers, planners, pens and other useful supplies were all included. The plan is to use these supplies with her literacy students and share with any other staff who may need additional supplies.
“Receiving these office supplies not only allows us to provide resources that promote academic achievement, but also a great opportunity for us to build community and partnerships,” said Vanessa Carter, literacy coach at MMA.
“We are grateful to the MEEMIC Foundation for selecting Ms. Vanessa to be the recipient of this grant,” Ms. Cheryl Paull, Head of School at MMA, said. “Vanessa goes above and beyond to build support and awareness of MMA. It means so much to our students and community.”
